On the afternoon of March 26, 2024, the 7th session of the "Qinghe Academic Lecture Hall", sponsored by the Guangxi University Committee of the Communist Youth League and undertaken by the Youth League Committee of the School of Computer and Electronic Information, was held in the lecture hall on the first floor of the college. Dr. Lein Harn from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) in United States was invited to give an academic presentation on the theme of "A New Era of Cybersecurity".

In Dr. Lein Harn's excellent presentation, the central topic focused on "how cryptography secures networks and communications". He delved into the differences between traditional and modern cryptography, emphasized the importance of understanding these differences and the diverse security services that modern cryptography offers in the digital age. Dr. Lein Harn gave a wonderful explanation of various cryptanalysis techniques, compared the different concepts of computational security and information theory security, and vividly demonstrated the central role of cryptography in maintaining information security by citing historical cases.

In the teacher-student exchange session of the report meeting, Dr. Lein Harn actively interacted with the students, and the students raised their doubts, and Dr. Lein Harn patiently answered these questions, and the students gained rich academic nutrition in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.

This academic report not only stimulates students' interest in scientific research and innovative spirit, creates a strong academic atmosphere on campus, but also provides them with a platform for understanding and in-depth discussion of this field, leading students to do a good job in professional and skill learning.
